That time of the month were there are new updates at the two Marketplaces we are a member of. Lemon Poppy Seeds and Country Fried Primitives. The theme is still LOVE OF COUNTRY!

Spring is here in Texas

WOW it is over 75 here in Dallas on this WINDY but Sunny Feb Day! Well we got our college apps in and now we are working on some aid for college. Kassy and Melissa both loved Texas Women's University so they both submitted their apps and are hoping they both get in, get the money and can room together. Just in case that falls through Kassy applied at Brookhaven too.

Well off the antibotics but the ulcer is still causing problems. Decided to stay off of glueten and hope that helps some of the pain. So while I have been sitting around resting I made up some Spring goodies. I have not decided where to list them all but might put some on eBay later this week.
This bunny tree topper (which can also be a free standing doll) is made for challenge in The Painted Daisy Community.

I had fun making up some small primitive annies in a couple styles ... One for Lemon Poppy Seeds
And one for Country Fried Primitives.

AND this cute gal is made using a Denni Doodles Pattern and can be for St Paddy's or Spring.


So excited I re-connected with some of my ZTA Sisters on Facebook and hope to see one in person this weekend! Man time really does move faster the older one gets. Hitting 50 in May but it seems like yesterday we were all parting at good ole UU.

One of the new things that our Poppy eBay group is doing this year is holding Friday Challenges. What that is on each Friday we will be given a word, phrase, picture or idea and we create one thing that next week using that theme. We will show off our creations on our Lemon Poppy Seeds Blog and list the next week's Challenge. It's something fun and inspiring to do and right now there is a giveaway connected to last Friday's Challenge so come on over!

Today is a really odd day in Dallas...some of us are getting Ice and some of us are getting rain...depends on which street ya live on. Right now we are getting rain and Chico and I are sitting and watching it come down...nice and wet.

History in the making

SO happy so many folks decided to vote. Whether you are red or blue THANKS for taking the time to cast your vote!
My sister who is also deaf and I are texting back and forth tonight and are very proud to say we are OBAMA MAMMA's. Yes we Voted for Change and look forward to 4 better years.
This election was the first one my Keelee could vote in and Kassy, my 17 year old said she sure wish she could have.
One thing we are praying for is a safe return of our all our brave men and women and that when they leave Iraq it will be better for us being there. We look upward to a better USA. It will take a while for us to get out of this hole we are in but I truly believe we will as a country be better and stronger.

I am so proud to be a member of many many online communities. Because of the internet I have been able to build freindships and business ties with folks all over the world. Favorite NEW Places

Good morning! It is a very chilly morning in Dallas. While I wait for Sassy Kassy to get ready for school I thought I would share some of my favorite new places on the web.

I have to admit I am a pattern-hoic. I think that is because I am a self taught sewer and I love the way most of the primitive gals create their patterns. They make them so easy to understand and follow. They really inspire me to create me things and make it so affordable to do so. AND what makes it even better is INSTANT Patterns or e-patterns. More Favorites
Another new thing I discovered this week is a super seller on etsy. This gal is amazing with her hands. She creates the most awesome GLUTEN FREE creations. Many more folks are looking to remove gluten from their diets. Some because they found it creates allergies and others they have found it decreases the problems associated with ADD and ADHD. I also know of folks who have increased success with their learning differences when they have taken gluten out of their diet. Whatever the reason I know it is so hard to find good tasting and affordable gluten free mixes and products.

NCCC Charity Auction ending soon on eBay

The NCCC charity is an IRS-approved charitable organization, and one which is very near and dear to our hearts. The National Cervical Cancer Coalition (NCCC) founded in 1996, is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to serving women with, or at risk for, cervical cancer and HPV disease.
